Privacy
RuleGoose runs a GDPR, CCPA and cookie-consent checker. It would be a bad look to fail our own tool — so we don't. Here's exactly what happens to your data, in plain English. The short version: almost nothing leaves your browser, and you can verify that yourself.
Open your browser's DevTools (F12) → Network tab → reload any checker page. You'll see requests only to rulegoose.com — no Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, no ad networks, no font CDN. A compliance tool that quietly phoned home would be exactly the thing it warns you about.
No Google Analytics, no pixels, no session recording, no ad/marketing scripts. We don't build a profile of you.
The checkers set no cookies at all. We don't need consent banners because there's nothing non-essential to consent to.
Space Mono is served from our own domain, not a font CDN — so visiting RuleGoose doesn't leak your IP address to a third party.
The checker and Score run in your browser. What you paste or tick is evaluated client-side and isn't sent anywhere — unless you explicitly submit a form.
All optional, all opt-in. If you never touch these, nothing is transmitted.
| When | What's sent | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| You submit "Email me my score" or a waitlist form | Your email + the fields on that form (e.g. score, at-risk rules) | Netlify Forms (our host), so we can reply |
| You paste a URL into Quick-Scan | That URL | Our serverless function fetches the page to suggest rules; the URL isn't stored |
| You use the optional AI generator (Pro) | The inputs you typed for that draft | Anthropic's API to generate the copy; not used to train models |
Because we store so little, there's rarely anything to request — but if you've emailed us or joined the waitlist and want your details accessed or deleted, email hello@rulegoose.com and we'll handle it. We don't sell or share personal information, and there's no targeted advertising to opt out of.
RuleGoose is a business tool not directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. (We also make a COPPA checker, so we take this one seriously.)
